The history of the sari state that women in the Indus Civilization used to cover themselves with a long piece of cloth,draped like a trouser.It is said that the word 'sari' has originated from the Prakri word 'sattika',which is mentioned in the early Buddhist literature.Then the word got shortened and was called sati,which further evolved into sari.In the Indus civilization the saree was draped by the female priest whcih devides the two legs and forms a trouser like attire.
